Mulch Made From Recycled Tires
Good for Garden, Good for Environment
While
Majestic Rubber Mulch (MRM) has made headlines in many parts of the country,
it is relatively rare in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Bristol/PA-based Majestic
Mulch intends to remedy that. We are a minority-owned business and a leading
supplier of rubber mulch and playground safety surfacing products.
“ There are literally so many benefits, that it sells itself,” states
Majestic Mulch President, Melissa Shragher. “When you tell a commercial
property owner or a homeowner that this mulch will last eight years, you
see a light bulb go on.”
While mulching only once every eight years is the most obvious advantage,
there are many more. Majestic Mulch’s product is resistant to mold
and mildew, which can attack plants and structures that touch the mulch.
It is also insect resistant, providing a less than ideal environment for
termites, ants and other bugs.
The
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has available grant money for the purchase of
the mulch by nonprofit organizations. This fact, combined with the performance
of MRM in playground applications, makes it an ideal choice for schools, daycares
and other institutions. The process used to make rubber mulch removes all toxic
elements and adds UV protection so the mulch looks good year after year. In
fact, it is difficult to tell apart from organic root mulch in its standard
mulch colors, and is available in some additional colors as well.
Majestic Rubber Mulch is applied to landscaping applications at a depth
of only 1.5” and is sold by the bag.
